- How do I become involved?

You can be involved in many different ways! Visit our working group pages and see what initiatives or ongoing programs interest you. Ask to attend to any of our meetings, we welcome your ideas, your presence, and your commitment to DEI issues.
- How often do you meet?

Working Group 1 meets every other Thursday at 10 am
Working Group 2 meets the first Friday of every month at 9 am.
Working Group 3 meets every other Wednesday 1pm
- How'd the working groups come to be

In 2020, disparities in representation were underscored in both the Letter to UCSB EEMB Faculty with Demands Toward Racial Equity (sent on July 1) and the Black Graduate Students Letter to EEMB (sent on June 30). In order to ensure the EEMB Department properly addresses these and other disparities, three working groups were created to improve DEI-related departmental issues in the following categories: 1) Recruitment, Retention and Accountability, 2) Curriculum, Teaching, and Research, and 3) Climate. Please see each Working Group webpage for further information regarding action items, statements of current standing, and future goals.
